a great place to stay

From the moment we arrived to the time we left the owners could not have done more to make us feel welcome and our stay special. The room was compact but everything was of superb quality and beautiful. All the little details and touches of a 5* hotel, the lovely chocolates and biscuits .. the teas.. the fragrant shampoos that make it special. The lovely dining room with real fires was the perfect background for some of the best food I have tasted. I would book this place just to eat it was like eating at masterchef. The hotel is in trefin which is set back from not overlooking the sea but very well positioned to enjoy a very beautiful stretch of the coast path. All in all a wonderful stay. Thankyou so much

Standard of Accomodation

Heather and Paul in our opinion are taking their B&B business seriously, putting a lot of thought into the quality of everything they provide without compromising on effort. We were pleasantly surprised with the breakfast as it was of a very high standard, much more than we expected e.g. their own home cured bacon, homemade sausage and bread...also a variety of choice if you didn't want the traditional type English breakfast, and there were 3 or 4 alternatives to choose from. The bed was very comfortable with Egyptian Linen bedding...if you wanted anything extra e.g. more tea or toast they obliged straight away and you didn't feel awkward asking for anything . Very clean at the same time warm and homely. We will definitely make sure we now fit another short break in to visit Cranog at Trefin because of the above.

Superb, stunning, you must stay here for a luxurious break! :-)

Excellent attentive hosts, superb breakfast, this charming house has been tastefully renovated to a high standard, our en suite to our double room was the highlight with the roll top bath!! My partner thinks possibly the most comfortable double bed 'ever'. We would definitely make a special trip to stay here again perhaps to spend more time relaxing on the 'chaise'. Trefin is tucked away, quiet, with fabulous walks all around. Car needed for access to cash points/shopping, but if you want to get away from all the hustle, bustle and noise I would highly recommend it. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Absolutely tip-top stay Overall, our stay was excellent. Our hosts could not have done more in welcoming us and assuring our comfort. The furnishings in the room were tastefully modern and attractive, and the twin beds extremely comfortable. The en suite bathroom was luxurious, with both a large overhead showerhead and a separate hand-held shower. A delicious evening meal and the breakfast were served in a combined dining room and lounge. Altogether, an entirely pleasurable experience.

Helen and I just wanted to thank you for a lovely welcome and stay in your beautiful guest house last night. We have never before stayed in such a well appointed, stylish or more peaceful small hotel. The room was quite lovely and you have raised the level of the Welsh Breakfast to a quite amazing level!

Our stay at Cranog was way beyond our expectations. It was excellent in every aspect. Not normally fans of B & Bs we initially thought this might be a risk !!! especially booking for a whole week, but no, we were made welcome from start to finish. Little touches such as fresh chilled milk and chilled water being brought to the room when we returned after a day's walking, fresh biscuits and decent coffee supplied in the room, all combined to make our holiday very enjoyable. I must also mention the breakfasts........superb ! A varied choice is available but if we wanted something different it was supplied with a smile. We highly recommend Cranog and we will certainly be returning.
